About melanoma.
Melanoma is a lethal form of skin cancer that is increasing in the U.S. at an epidemic rate of 4.3% per year- higher than any other cancer. Once metastasized, the five-year survival rate is less than 10%. Melanoma can strike anyone regardless of age, health, or skin complexion. The American Cancer Society predicts 55,000 new cases of melanoma will be diagnosed in 2004. People think that it's "just a skin cancer." It's not.
